This is no toyOct 19, 2009
By Charles Fred Smith This is an excellent product for the model builder who has to "put it up" every night. It is a good way to have everything set up so you can work at the kitchen table and not get glue or paint on your wife's prize. The light works well but is not as good as a permanently installed, brighter one with a circular magnifier. This one runs on D batteries which give it a long life time before replacement. Overall it works well but a dedicated work bench would be better.

Great portable workspaceNov 18, 2010
By Michael Meisel As the other reviewer stated this is certainly no toy; it's very rugged and reliable. The base will not slip due to the rubber attached to each corner. The magnifying glass is more than adequate and the arm is completely adjustable to any angle you might need. I have found there's no slipping or sliding once it's positioned either, which is great! The only drawback might be the light which is good but not great, however considering its size not bad. But that's a minor quibble. I just use my own lamp adjacent to the pad and get all the light I need. The paint holders allow you to place Tamiya paint and liquid glue real well; needless to say that's to be expected. Model Master paints, et al. were not quite as secure. I would also recommend getting the optional cutting pad which fits perfect and works well. I believe it's the A4 size but check to make sure. Overall a product that does what it claims and Amazon's price was the best I found.

Work StationNov 11, 2011
By Paranormal Fox I'm very pleased with this product, At first I had a little problem with its work space, but I did adapt to it after a few days.
tamiya work station with lensOct 03, 2012
By art Over all the product was very good, how ever I find the lens hard to use and at times the magnifying part is not enough for the detailed work that I need to do. The light also has issues at times it will not turn on after switching on the switch and will not come on till I either move the arm or tap it. The item is well built and durable, but for the price I might have been better served buying a large cutting matt and a large stand magnifyer with light.
