5The Positive Review!Oct 29, 2010

I find it necessary to post a Positive Review of this product. A review could be the deciding factor a perspective buyer needs to make a decision whether or not to purchase a product. In my opinion, the previous comments are not a true informed review of this particular product. This MODEL KIT is a finely crafted and well executed product. It is intended for MODELERS aged 10 and up. It DOES require assembly (with glue) and painting. Tamiya has intentionally designed this kit in pieces, on sprues, so that the MODELER can assemble them as he/she wishes, to be placed in certain wartime situations or diorama settings. This is a top-notch kit as are most Tamiya offerings. I have MODELED countless products from this company and this KIT is no exception...HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

5Finely crafted, exceptionally detailed MODEL KITAug 18, 2011

It's like playing with clay. No, not CLAY the kid, clay the squishy, earth stuff we used to make pottery from. Kit is not person either, it is a description that alerts the buyer to the fact that this item must be assembled to some degree. Model is not just the Jersey Housewives. It is also a term that, when understood, let's the potential buyer know that this is a product which will require assembly. Having cleared that all up, these KITS are treasured by top modelers around the world. You can find them in the finest hobby and toy stores because they have a long tradition of quality and excellence. The detail is amazingly realistic. One who is a modeler is a creator. Half the fun is in bringing the model to life with your own skills in assembling and painting. The modeler is a part of the end product, not just a looker thereupon. For someone to call these models "worthless plastic" is telling beyond words, and quiet sad, especially for the child involved. Well, at least he can curl up on the couch and watch Jersey Housewives or some such drivel with ma ma.

5I'll take 'em! Send 'em here!Apr 07, 2012

***Anyone who didnt read and thought this was a toy contact me and I'll take them off your hands!!***

To be fair, I think AMAZON has made a GRAVE error in associating these models with TOYS! Thats where the confusion lies. These are NOT TOYS! They are highly detailed, exquisitely crafted FINE-SCALE MODELS! These are not made for some 8 year old to run over with a tonka truck or to bury in the mud. They're made to be assembled, painted, and displayed proudly in a diorama alongside similar scale vehicles and scenery, etc, hence the 'ASSEMBLY REQUIRED' statement in the description. For modelers out there who want a GREAT kit with a large amount of soldiers for the price this is it.

1/48th scale used to be reserved for planes and the odd bit of maintenance or flight crew back when I started modeling. Having the addition of vehicles and combat troops is incredible! The diorama I have going now includes these troops along with several other Tamiya kits including a Stuka and some officers, a flakverling and some sandbags... first time in my modeling history I've been able to do that so I'm more than stoked! This kit is a fine addition to any 1/48th scale collection and deserves the highest rating possible despite those who thought these were the same model soldiers we all bought at K-mart for 3 bucks back in the day.

Deception!!!!! What you see is definetly not what you get! The description of what is depicted is not what you get in the mail! What you get is a bunch of molded soldiers that you have to pull off of the molded plastic tearoffs, none of which are painted and all for which you have to glue together, arms, legs, heads, bodies, etc...very dissapointed with this item and so is our 6 year old son who was so looking forward to playing with this toy upon arrival at our home. Foul on YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what appears in the photo is not what is in the box. This was purchased for a 10 year old interested in WWII.
He anticipated the arrival of UPS only to find a box with plastic pieces and parts all the same color which had to be assembled and glued! Talk about dissapointed! Shame on me for not researching further as the photo seemed so authentic.
now that the box is opened I guess we have $14.50 worth of useless plastic.
