| | | Description: | | Highly detailed 1/35 scale model kit of the FlaK 36/37, an 88 mm anti-aircraft and anti-tank artillery gun used by Germany during World War II. Commonly called the "eighty-eight" by the Allies, the German 88 mm gun was a highly effective weapon against both air and ground targets. Originally developed as an anti-aircraft gun ("FlaK"), the eighty-eight prove to be superb as anti-tank artillery during the German campaign in France and North Africa. The eighty-eight's success as an improvised anti-tank gun lead to a new line of PaK 88 mm guns dedicated to anti-tank use, including some mounted on Tiger and Panther tanks. This model kit features the FlaK 36 or FlaK 37 version of the 88 mm gun, nine detailed gun crew figures, and lots of 1/35 scale accessories. | | | Features: | |

Tamiya has a history as a leader in the world and hobby of scale model building. I have been a fan of Tamiya kits since the first one I built when I was 11 years old. That was almost 41 years ago. The detail on the model and on the soldiers is amazing and first rate. From the handles that control the elevation and traverse of the gun to the weapons the soldiers have as their personal firearms, you can almost feel like you are there, preparing to fire this German 88mm gun.
You can never go wrong with a Tamiya kit. For the price, you will always have an amzaing enjoyment in building one of their kits.

Another great model from TamiyaDec 20, 2008
By Zac I love Tamiya models they find the right spot of easy to build while still having a good amount of challegen to them. This is a great model of a German 88. The only problem I have with it is the men keep falling over. But beyond that its a great models. Keep in mind this is not a toy. You have to put it togeother yourself and paint it yourself. If you like that. You can never good wrong with a Tamiya model.

Tamiya 88mm Flak Gun, 1/35 scaleJul 15, 2010
By Lee's Opinion This is my favorite model - period. It has great detail and is at a reasonable price. Tamiya has been around for years and is really the benchmark to which other plastic models are compared. I made an 88mm Flak Gun when I was a teenager in the 70's and it was awesome. I am now getting back into modeling after being away many years and can't wait to do another one of these. However, it is a bit more challenging than some of the other armor Tamiya models, so I would not try this one until I built up my proficiency (it has many very small detailed parts), but it is definitely worth working up to as a goal. In other words, this should not be the first model you try to build. It works wonderfully as a stand alone piece in a diorama or can be combined in armor battle scenes or with aircraft as this gun was often used as a anti-aircraft gun as well.

Great modelDec 04, 2010

I only rated the durability at one star because it is a glue model kit and not made to be played with. It is for display purposes. It provides enough of a challenge to assemble without being frustrating. Parts fit together nicely. Very pleased with this model kit.
Good valueMay 07, 2012
By Richard C. Vaughan Good value for the price. Shipped promptly, too. Best Service stores are OK. Any price break on Tamiya models is always welcome.
